It has a GPS on it?  How can it get a satellite signal inside a pipeline?

I don't know, it must be an extremely strong signal.  I've heard of ones that relay from subsea to the surface, then to a GPS Satellite from there.  I think the GPS's you get at the local sporting goods store are really limited, I mean, I had one that didn't work through the roof of my car!!!

There is a simple solution to your GPS problem cvitte...
Too thick roof plate on the Firebird. Buy a Fiat and the GPS will work :teeth_smile:

Am I mistaken, or is that the launcher area in the hull on Thunderhorse?  correct me if I'm wrong..  'cause it sure looks like it...

Yes it was the horse, where else will they build something this big, I think there were three like that in the hull - launcher/receiver/spare.

Only if they did not jinx the name, the Horse probably will be pumping out oil like no other platform before...
