NEW bolting method calculates its BOLT length. For example, Flange1 Thk + Gasket Thk + Flange2 Thk + ( 2 x Nut Height ) + Extra length

Basically these values are stored in

Flange Thickness - From Bthickness of BLRFARRAY of CATREF (BTSE or BLTP Element)
Gasket Thickness - Face to Face of Gasket
Nut height - BITLENGTH of BLTREF of Bolt Spec (SBOL Element)
Extra length - XTRALENGTH of BLTREF of Bolt Spec (SBOL Element)

these can all be found in User Guide. Please take time to read as this is a critical task.

[QUOTE=sduanbm;19214]Is there some one that can explain the different types of BTYP?

MACH = machine bolts => bolt with nut and washer
STUD = Stud bolt       => stud bolt with nuts and washers
CAP   = Cap screw      => only cap screw

    And now to the Quest

JACK = Jacking screw  => is the for lifting devise
TAP  = Tapped holes   => what is this? Taped holes aren't that what the CAP is for?

    Thanks

    :support:

    Hi there

I am having a curious issue while trying to get cap screws to run on a valve connected to a flange.

The total amount of bolts should be 12-off
I am getting 12-off bolts and 12-off cap screws displaying on the isometric

the flange has 12 off bolts m20 dia with the btype as Bolt
the valve has 12 off bolts m20 dia with the btype of Cap

when the isometric runs i get 12 off cap screws of a shorter length, that i require and 12 standard bolts that are slightly longer based on the rpro flth attribute that i do not require.
Why am i getting both cap bolts and standard bolts on the connection/joint when the cap bolt is set as 12

The valve btype is cap for all 12 bltp

In essence i am getting the double quantity of bolts at the joints

Any ideas what is causing this and does anyone have a solution

    thanks
    Mark

Mark, bolt calculation is quite complex and it is difficult to help you without accessing your catalogue and specification configuration.
I would suggest to contact Aveva UK so they can connect remotely to you machine and solve your issue
    Kindest regards
    Corrado
