Environment Manager Readme

Purpose

Environment Manager evolved from DLLMan, a utility originally written to assist in the management of computers that have multiple versions of CitectSCADA installed.  It solves a number of known issues including startup crashes, trend archive initialisation errors and tag import/export problems, as well as providing a unified launch pad for all your Scada installations.

As well supporting Vijeo Citect, PowerLogic SCADA and Nexa Monitoring / Citect Facilities, Environment Manager provides project-centric operations such as multi-project backup/restore and project analysis to assist in managing single installations as well.

Note: Version 2.16+ of Environment Manager has been created for access by users via the ToolBox. It is not an officially supported utility, i.e. it has not been rigorously tested via Schneider Electrics QA systems. There may be aspects of the utility not in lock step with later versions of CitectSCADA.

It is always recommended that projects be backed up before utility options are used and it is not intended to be used on a live system.

Installation instructions

1. Uninstall any previous versions of DLLMan and Environment Manager (via Add/Remove Programs in Windows Control Panel).

2. This version requires Microsoft .NET 2.0 and MDAC 2.6 or higher.

3. Run EnvironmentManager_2.xx_Setup.exe and follow the instructions during the setup procedure.

4. You can then run Environment Manager from Start->Programs->Citect->Environment Manager v2.xx.

5. It is recommended that you also import an ECF (Environment Manager Common Files) package, by choosing 'Import' from the 'Program' menu in the main Environment Manager window. You can obtain an ECF file from the same place you sourced the program installer, or from http://www.citect-kb.schneider-electric.com/ToolBox. This will allow you to swap between known versions without having to capture anything yourself.
