How do I configure the Windows Firewall to allow remote access to my InduSoft Web Studio runtime computer?

Many features and functions of InduSoft Web Studio support remote access from other computers on a network.  Remote access to a computer from other computers on a network is controlled by the Windows Firewall.  If you want to allow remote access to these InduSoft features and functions, then you need to configure the firewall to allow remote access.  You could turn off the Windows Firewall to allow unrestricted remote access, but that is not recommended.  Instead, you should configure the Windows Firewall to allow remote access to the specific InduSoft Web Studio programs providing these features and functions.

The following instructions for configuring the Windows Firewall apply to Windows 7 and later and Windows Server 2008 R2 and later.  If you have questions about configuring the Windows Firewall for other versions of Windows operating systems, then please leave a reply.

Launch the Windows Firewall

Open the Windows Firewall from the Windows Control Panel.  You should see something similar to the following,
