Google recently transitioned to using an authentication scheme called OAUTH 2.0 for Gmail. You can learn more about it at https://googleonlinesecurity.blogsp...older.html. The Windows library that we use in Indusoft (Collaboration Data Objects) does not support OAUTH 2.0 so our SMTP connection gets dropped after we send our credentials.
Gmail implemented OAUTH 2.0 earlier this summer, but gives you a way to opt out. You can read about it at https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6010255. I did this on one of my Gmail accounts and I can send email again. Note that after I made the required change that it did not seem to take effect immediately. However, I was able to send email the day after I made the change.
After you do this, then you need to open Project >> Email settings from the InduSoft Web Studio ribbon menu and configure it similar to the following,
