Hi Brian.

You can continually evaluate the expression >tag = number< and assign to a 'control' tag within the scheduler.
This can be done on either a clock basis (say ... each second) or when the value of >tag< changes.
It does mean using an additional tag, but I assume this wouldn't be an issue.

Using this approach … according to the Technical Reference … will place "a reading request in every communication scan." while enabled.
My understanding is that the default scan interval is approximately 600msec.

You can use individual bits of an integer tag in the 'Enable Read when Idle' field. If that helps.
