Popup Keyboard/Keypad

I am running Indusoft on a Beckhoff CX5130 PC (Embedded pc running Windows 10 Pro). While running my project on my laptop (also Windows 10 pro) the pop up keyboad/keypads function as intended for input enabled fields. However, when I run this project from the embedded system the keypads do not work, I am unable to enter data in the fields. If I disable the virtual keyboard from the Project/Viewer settings the Windows keyboard pops up and I can enter data. While this works, I prefer the Indusoft keyboard/Keypads for simplicity and these are what are used on our other machines.

Any thoughts on why the keyboard/keypad does not come up? It has to be a configuration issue somewhere.

  • Does the keypad not pop up, or is it unusable when it does?

    A couple possibilities.

    1. You are using an improperly initialized Indirect tag.

    2. The Windows On Screen Keyboard needs to be disabled from automatically popping up when you click on a text entry field.

    3. All of the needed files were not properly installed on the Beckhoff device.
  • I have discovered the keypad/keyboard only pops up when I am using the Runtime on the Beckhoff. When I use the Engineering runtime it does not work onthe beckhoff but, does from my laptop.

    Strange the issues I have between the Engineering and the Runtime. I am now fighting an issue where I can print a report from the Engineering but, not from the runtime.
