Grid object not appearing on thin client

Hi,

I would like to revive the thread: http://www.indusoft.com/forums/Archives-Messages?topic=4264009108&Subject=Grid+Data+object+on+Thin+Client

It seems like I am facing similar issue with using a grid object on a thin client... I have tested grid object on both mdb database and txt file. None of them seem to be appearing on my thin client.

This is really frustrating. The thin client features seems to be either a hit or miss. Alarm, event objects does not automatically update itself. Alarm and event filter pop up are not appearing on the thin client. Using IIS to host html files has been a nightmare... There is no proper document on what feature is supported on the thin client.

And it also seem like nobody is attending to the support email.

  • Hi.

I might be missing something, but your comments above have me a little confused.
You mention having problems with the Grid Object … but your images are from the Trend object?
You mention having trouble with IIS configuration … but say that the attached images are from Chrome?
So I assume you are trying to configure a Trend object for the SMA thin client.

The 'full' Indusoft thin client currently only works with Internet Explorer.
I know there are significant limitations with Trend and Grid objects in the SMA HTML5 client, although I do not use this interface.
The Technical Reference for Indusoft v8.1 does state that the Mobile Access client Trend object ONLY supports the Tag data source.
Also, only Label, Colour, Tag/Field and Hide properties are supported.
So … it won't work for text or database sources.

If you want the Trend object to work really well in the thin client, I'd recommend using Internet Explorer for the time being if at all possible.
It works extremely well on all data sources, can be configured to directly display data from queries without the need to consume tags etc.
Initial configuration might take a bit of trial and error when not familiar with IIS, but once understood it is straight forward.

I am also extremely keen to see a fully functional HTML5 thin client developed … but this still seems to be some time off.
