    assess, in such a way that the public has no reason to
    suspect the extent of our ignorance.

    Sometimes, It seems designers are asked to play a game of chess in the dark.  Or to determine the method of manufacuring titanium on the dark side of the moon. Where is my crystal ball!

    But, the most of the time we have the limited knowledge we are given, accepted engineering practices and empirical methods we posess.  This is the formula for thinking outside of the box.  As we have all experienced, the hardest part is knowing how to start and how to end.
