I received an email this morning taking about a huge project... Omniplus Engineering (nyse:OME) announced today that they have been awarded the EPC contract for the "Houngtang" petrochemical project in Kersetestan. The $47billion (USD) project is the largest grassroots petrochemical project ever undertaken by a single EPC contractor. "We're very excited that the government of Kersetestan has chosen Omniplus for such an important project" said Monty Christianson, CEO of Omniplus. He went on to say that Omniplus has the expertise and experience to execute this project and that their Boston,MA. office is looking forward to the challenges of such a large undertaking. Pat King, Manager of Omniplus Human Resources was quoted as saying "We will have to add a significant number of engineers and designers to our current staff to meet the project's fast track schedule. Drawing the above mentioned personnel away from other EPC contractors will be a real challenge. As most engineering and construction companies in the nation are already struggling to meet staffing needs for the current work load. Omniplus is willing and is set financially to pay whatever is required to secure the staffing needs for this project". Word on the street is that designers will be coming on board in the $140 to $150 per hour range and engineers can expect a significantly higher rate. Could this be "the one" that engineers and designers have been waiting for? Only time will tell.
I also googled Omniplus and Omniplus Engineering with nothing.
I googled Kersetestan and Kersetestan Government with nothing.
There was no mention of the on the WorleyParsons Group website. From which the email seemed to be originated.
A Sr. Piper with AMEC Paragon, Inc. also confirmed that there is no such company and that this story is totally false.
Sounds alot like the 50MILL ready to be sent from Nigeria to your bank account...:)
