I am an engineer with good knowledge in pdms design, draft & also cat & spec.so wt should i do wether i should go as pdms designer or go in enginerngline as a piping engineer. which one is better. please advise.
There is no better or worse. If you like PDMS and design go for PDMS designer. Now if you would like to become an engineer... and not use PDMS anymore. Then go for that if that is what you like.... Now think of this too...would you take the advice of someone you have never met from the internet?
Because here in many company the management donot give respect to designer even though designers are the main productive people, without them project can't be completed. But even an engineer even though donot know anything and just doing a messenger work taking drawing from designer & submitting to client get more respect from management. why this descrimination of fellings between designers & engineers from management.

Drafting and Design is a necessary evil. This has been treated as such from the beginning. A good example is calling a plumber out to work on your house, no doubt you need him but you feel that maybe you could have done it yourself. Therefore, you feel overcharged and you want him to leave as soon as possible.
The truth of the matter is, Designers make bad Engineers and Engineers make bad Designers. Just as Doctors compare to Nurses. Designers are an excellant support for Engineers. If utilized correctly, project activities are guarateed to execute smoothly.
