This is not a question regarding PDMS, but general knowledge question. I have some doubts regarding the type of Bolts used in US.
At Europe we typically use DIN dimension standards:
- DIN 933 (Machine Bolt : lengths greater than 300 mm scaling 20 mm + 20 mm).
- DIN 934 (Nuts).
- DIN 125 (Washer Form A - Plain End; Washer Form B - Bevel End).
- DIN 975 (Threaded rod 1000 mm greater lengths per request).
- DIN 976 (Stud Bolts Form A - Plain End; Stud Bolts Form B - Bevel End : lengths greater than 300 mm scaling 20 mm + 20 mm).
Of course, these types of bolts/nuts/washers can be provided in different materials, ratings etc.
After some research on the web I have found that for the nuts there is the ANSI B 18.2 standard and for the screw threads ANSI B 1.1.
So my questions are:
- What type of bolts/stud bolts are normally used at Power/Chemical/Oil/Gas plants?
- Are there any standards that refers to the Bolt/Nuts/Washer dimensions like the DIN standards?
