We are a small Engineering house and looking at upgrading our design systems in the office and looking for a direct comparison between PDMS , SP3D and Bentley Plantspace. Talking with the individual representatives obviously they all have commercial reasons to promote their products so its difficult to attain a objective view.. Personally, previously working with PDMS and with majority of our Customer base having a preference to PDMS its seems to be a stand out choice. Does anyone know if there has been a Third party paper produced on this comparison, if so how to have access to this.

Coming back to your original question there are organizations such as Daratech who publish data on market share etc for the plant design industry, unfortunately you need to be a subscriber to them before you can get access to such data. The software companies have access to this data and as an Intergraph person I'm happy to discuss it with you.
