i am using following procedure for creating the isometric symbols:
1- I create a symbol file library like : C:\TEST.SYM
2- Then I plan and pre-design what the shape of the item from the base skey.
3- Then I make a new skey in this way:
First go to draft administration and Draft > Isodraft Symbol Library…
Then, by create Menu >Create new library , Isodraft Symbol Library and Isodraft Symbol Template(accept setting for ISOLB ) but in ISO symbol template window setting choose skey, base skey(this is standard sky by AVEVA which can be found in Isodraft manual or even modify SDTE of an item in paragon module!!) Put scale 100, choose each flow, dimension, fill….according your need.
Draw your symbol by menu draw>primitive…
-be carful about the size of your symb ‘coz it may make you in scale rounding!! I draw my symbol by this position (xyposition x 13mm y 11mm) and cheight 4mm.
4- Also be notice that the shape should be in horizontal. For example when i made this assembly i made it leave/arrive in left and tee in right side of the screen. Orientation of generated skey will be different in Isodraft you should get it in try and error.(using move and rotate in edit menu)
5- Then stand on ISOTM
6- Go to Utilities>Export Isodraft Symbol…..
7- In new window go to File>New… and in file browser in directory path type: c:\ then select TEST.SYM and then ok.
8- Getting back on export Isodraft symbol then in left part(ISOLB members) select skey which you export in your ISO symbol library(i.e. test.sym) and press add…in lower part and the new skey will appear on file contents.
9- Now you can see what exported before by open iso symbol file. Just in command line type C:\TEST.SYM then use
Q isosym - gives list of the SKEYS in the symbol file
Q isosym number - gives the total number of SKEYS in the symbol file
Q isosym 1 - gives details of skey no '1' in the symbol file
10- Now, type :
Isosym close
And your symbol file is ready for use.
11- Make your on catalogue in paragon (or existing) and change its skey to be defined skey of yours (for this select your SDTE of your component then go to modify> global attributes…. And change existing skey with your new one)
12- Now you are in Isodraft and ready to get new symbol but you must modify option file of existing or new define isometric. Find this isometric option file( exist in STD folder of ISO folder of your project) edit it by adding a line at the end:
Symbolf /c:\teat.sym read-only
