I did a search on AutoCAD and found something in wikipedia; I did a search on intergraph and found something in wikipedia; I did a search on PDMS and found nothing.
So I took the first try and copied some history/timeline of PDMS as provided by Aveva.
Since wiki is a community project, just like this successful forum, please chip in and add your two cents and perspective. I know a lot of you have worked on PDMS a long time and on different projects, please help the new-comers out.
Thanks all and let the encyclopedia writing begin! Please email any of your suggestions and comments to wikipdms@gmail.com.
Disclaimer - I worked for Aveva in early 2000 and my main job was to convert PASCE customers' legacy databases into PDMS. I do not work for Aveva now. It is not my goal to promote nor demote PDMS, but just want to capture the history of this software since so many of us are making a pretty good living off it.

Since Wiki's rule is not for commercial advertising, so official AVEVA BD material is not appropriate.
However, PeterB, PDMS Professor, Dr Interface, can you take a look and add sth unofficial when you have time?
I don't think I will, I am afraid. As an AVEVA employee without a customer facing role, I don't want to walk the fine line between inappropriate advertising and the Marketing department...
Indeed it is a very worthwhile project, and I fully encourage everyone to contribute. I just do not plan to do so, at least in any significant way myself. On fora like PDMSWorld and PDMSForum I can choose to be selective in what I reply to (for example if the topic deals with unannounced releases, or financially sensitive data), but maintaining a suitable "Neutral Point of View" for wikipedia while writing signinfcant text for it would be harder. Not necessarily impossible, but more than I want to do at the moment.
