Topics for Viewpoint Americas 2006

  • The VPA Technical committee is responsible for submitting projects and requests to AVEVA.  All requests are filtered through the committe where we can determine if the issue is a bug or if there are other ways to handle it.  From there it is elevated to the Summit Committee (All the ViewPoint User Groups Worldwide), then to AVEVA.  There's definitely a formal process in place that I'll be talking about this Tuesday afternoon at the conference.  And yes!  We will be sharing all the presentations with you all.  We're hoping that the confernce will trigger topics and discussions that we can continue on this forum year around.  At least until we can bring it to a conclusion or until we beat it death...  Either way, VPA is the Americas Vantage Product Users group and we're here to help each other and to be one voice from the Americas back to the AVEVA folks.

:sorry: I'll get off my soapbox. Let me know if I've answered your questions or created more...

    Donna,
Maybe for starters put some priorer requests from Viewpoint America's technical committee to Aveva on your site so we will see if Aveva actually did anything about those requests?

A little transparency will be nice, and would you recommend them spending a little more money on the support.aveva site?  I get more info here (and from Steve R's Cadarena site) than what I can get from the official site.  And those posts by PDMS professor and Mr PDMS Interface are very helpful to all of us.

Also why should I post question here so some good Samaritan answers for free when WE paid maintanence to Aveva?

Something is wrong with this picture.  Please send our best regards to Mr. Longdon and let him know our concerns and frustration since 1999 when they bought and buried a competitor whose inovation are still being digested by Aveva.

It's doubtful that Aveva can buy Smartplant so maybe they need to learn how to support their customers more effectively.

    best regards,
