    I remember reading somewhere sometime ago that Aveva were involved in aquiring Autocad (or some part of it)?, presumably to enhance their 2D application, I thought at the time, I can't wait to see what improvements they make to Draft.......I'm still waiting so, can appreciate 'FromHH' comments!

    So what now?
    Is AVEVA going to replace the latest Structural Application in PDMS 12.1 with bocad?
    Or is it an additional module?
    Will Beams and Columns be hidden in the menue like the old ASL-modeller?
    When will bocad be available in PDMS?
    Or do we have to buy another licence???

    PDMS is not a CAD software it is a database software PDMS Gurus have stated many times here, so don't expect any changes on a near future :(

    You have an example with ISOGEN. Have a look what Autodesk have done with it on AutoCAD Plant 3D and compare it with Isodraft. Both use the same ISOGEN engine.

    CAD = Computer Aided Design

    PDMS software is installed and runs on a computer
    PDMS Aids design
    Therefore PDMS is a CAD Software

    It is just so that I tried to use the ACAD-List files a few years ago, they where called AutoDRAFT and so on.
    I never really got a sufficient result and I never really thought they were usefull oder used by anyone...
    Does anyone really use these lisp-files??

    Now, that I'm working with PDMS 12.1 we have problems to create .dxf / .dwg anyway, therefore we're doing every drawing in PDMS completely!
    And with a good admin and some nice macro buttons it works fine. Never ever want to go back to transfer to ACAD!
    (Well, we have a client who wants to have PDMS-Isometrics in .dxf

    PDMS is not a CAD software, aren't my words. This is always the answer I get from PDMS Gurus, when I request for CAD features.
