We have been using AVEVA Integration Service successfully for a while to feed data from external data sources to Engineering 14.2 via Compare & Update.
Now, I'm curious if we can use AVEVA Integration Service to feed Engineering data in the reverse direction - i.e. to an external application.
Imagine that I have a C# application that wants to access Engineering database: is it possible to use/setup AVEVA Integration Service so that it becomes a sort of an additional ODBC data source for my C# application?
Is it necessary to have an Engineering session running in background in order to expose Engineering data to an external application?
Of course, I can always export a snapshot of Engineering data to an intermediate file - but my goal now is to try to avoid any intermediate files as much as possible.
Does anybody have similar experience?
Many thanks in advance for the answers!
