not that easy. The command is existing in the dll and you can link it to a button on your ribbon. But the button is still greyed out then.
You could try to write your own .nett addin to call it, but anyway i dont think the search is needed for Aveva Engineering at least if you are a User. From the Admin point of view i could help sometimes maybe
