I am working on AVEVA P&D version 12.1 SP3. Recently we have completed one small p&Id project , now i want
to use symbols of existing project. How to copy or backup symbols to new project.
Try to upgrade your project with the wizard and select your project folder where you have your symbols. After that if they still don't show up, go to the symbol explorer right click on Standard / Project and click "Refresh All"
Good luck, you are going to need, this new version is really troublesome.
If you are asking to import your existing PROJECT (not standard) symbols, I would look in the old project for a file ending in *.sym. This is the legacy symbol file. If you copy your older symbols it the new project folder (create a backup first), you can use the *.sym file to import the symbols through administration.
If that *.sym file is not there, open the source project administration and export them. Then follow the same procedure above.
