Say you want to convert your 3D model to DGN file format.
ExPLANT-I runs from within Design, and can output one or more PDMS elements to a .dgn file. Only 'old' dgn elements are used, so the file can be read into both old and new versions of Microstation.
Standard ExPLANT-I does not output attributes, but AVEVA has available tools to output attributes in a variety of formats. Your local business unit may be able to help. (You might also like to search the forum for other mentions of ExPLANT-I - the tool that can export .drv files can export other things too, with customisation).

Can I get format file used to export 3d model to .dgn by using Explant-I?
When you say "format file" are you talking about the 3DSeed file that Explant-I uses to create the DGN? If so, then Aveva has supply's a generic metric one with Explant-I software. However, if you are interfacing with someone that uses DGN files, like PDS, then you should ask them for their 3DSeed file. That way you are using the same units and other starter data that they use.
If "format file" does not refer to the 3DSeed file, could you please clarify?
What is the deal with Aveva on limiting exchanges in and out of PDMS and making it difficult for people to use its product? I think that approach will only drive its customer to other software platforms.
We are using Naviswork instead of review not only because it is a better product, also because it is A LOT cheaper.
If we all feed back via our company management to Aveva sales that they need to review its pricing structure then someone in Cambridge may listen.
I am happy with PDMS and have no desire to learn Smart Plant, but I have heard great reviews of the latest release of Smart Plant 3D. A couple of my ex-colleagues who are devoted PDMS fans are looking seriously into changing platforms.
Finally there maybe a worthy competition, hope the big boss in Cambridge will finally listen.
hello everyone! Can anyone help me about coordinates in gridlines. Why I cant input negative coordinates? If somebody already answers or shares this on past post, please forgive me.
We use NavisWorks as well as it took me all of about 10min to look at Review LE and figured to be in the internet as a $49.95 download somewhere. It was very choppy, limited, EXPENSIVE and hard to navigate. NavisWorks is reasonable, smooth, intergrates files from tons of other platforms.....where is the hard decision here? Anyone can contact me at dave@cadfusion.net about getting NavisWorks v5 as I help a local reseller here in KC.

You need a training course in PDMS.
There is no negative co-ord in PDMS, just like in real life there is no negative 1000mm.
In PDMS north east and up are positive and south west down are negative. So E0, N0 U0 is the orgin, and everything is wrt that point.
