I have come across a problem I haven?t experienced before. When I import IFC file, it is sitting in E3D zero and our facility is located over 80m in N and E direction.
However, when I import this IFC in Navis (with our exported E3D model), the position is correct. Therefore I don?t think the problem is incorrectly set zero point in the IFC file. I rather think the export is not going right.
There is the "Use reference datum" option in the IFC import but I don?t tick the option since the reference point in the IFC file should be right (otherwise it would be displaced in Navis). In past it always worked.
Of course I can move the created zone after import but it is hard to determine how much it needs to be moved in both directions and I want to know how this works.
Have you any experience with this? Or is there a way how can I find to which point is related the import? It is hard to get this information from IFC explorer.
