Option 1. You export separate rvm model, when opening in Naviswork, you can right mouse click in the model browser (I am using Jetstream 5) and change the whole model into 50% transparent. It is that simple. And then you can either save the whole model as a new .nwd file which will retain this info (ie transparency) or as a .nwf file (similar to the .rvs). We used to output any insulation to a separate model so that it does not clutter the views.
Option 2. Basic naviswork search function will allow you to collect all items with certain attributes you specify. I do not have access to Navisworks now, so can not post screenshots. Play around yourself and it is quite straight forward.
It is quite straight forward, give it a try, if still stuck, post here and I will give you step by step tomorrow.
