Option 2. Basic naviswork search function will allow you to collect all items with certain attributes you specify. I do not have access to Navisworks now, so can not post screenshots. Play around yourself and it is quite straight forward.

We did the same what de_ding said. I think translucency in PDMS model will not be directly copied to Navisworks. Navisworks transluceny for models is another feature and it will be manually done.
