I don't know, why when I select "Design Element" for example HVAC Branch or One Piece of Duct which I have created in "SAMPLE" project can not be "Searched" and therefore nothing will be shown in "Display Area".
Before produce drawings you need to: Utilities-->HVAC Spooling...

I checked on my laptop and it works ok. I am using AVEVA PDMS Draft Mk12.0.SP6.31[7315]
Under your HVAC element you should have an HSLIST element containing many HSPOOLs elements.
Once in Draft (Automatic Drawing Production application) navigate to your HVAC element (or a ZONE or a SITE) and select the CE button next to the "Design Element to search under" field in the HVAC Sketches form.
Then once you have chosen the REGI where the drawings will be created into, just press the Create Sketches button.

How to correlate these spools /sketches to construction drawing, viz. PLAN Drawing etc.
Like for piping, Isometric and spool drawing. Spool numbers are reflected in isometric.
