    Hi experts

    is there any way to import dwg file into pdms 12 or some interface is required or need to convert any dwg file to any pdms file

    help

    The  previous answer doesn't help a lot with PDMS12. I've manually imported DXFs with the importer (separate licence) but in that case the graphics should be exploded / bursted before the import. Without that they don't show correctly.

    I would also like to hear if there are some more straightforward ways to do this which wouldn't require manual work.

    PDMS/E3D can import/Export DXF file (3D) from AutoCAD.

    As i know import of external file is manual task only.

    in autocad --> export in .sat
    in pdms --> Equipement menu / MEI import and select .sat file

    MEI officially supports STEP AP203 format only.
    You can also try with IGES and SAT, but something may go wrong...
