The user who posts a problem / query should be able to mark the thread as "SOLVED".

This may prove useful for another user who is looking for a solution. The same criterion shall also be available in Search option like: Show only Solved Threads!

Its a typical practice on some other forums. My 2 cents on it anyway!

that sounds great....however.....with PDMS there are sometimes many solutions for a problem.  it is hard to determine "solved" because someone else can accomplish the task from a different perspective.  It is like an exchange of  thoughts, ideas and  development.  However, once the threads stop....well all has been said that can be said.

Spot on, can't argue with that. Thanks for the perspective though!

I think this is a very good idea and thank you. I will look into it.

On second thoughts such as this one:
There is typically one more option of "editing" the "posted" post. This might save from making one more post towards ammendment.

And yes, this is not at all original idea but mere a comparative observation.

I highly agree there should be a way to edit posts.

It is now possible for thread owners to close a thread, and it is also possible to edit your posts. To close your thread just use the "Administrative" menu that shows up right at the top of the thread.
For testing I also activated a function to rate threads, not sure if we want to keep that activated.

It has been almost eight years since the last post to this thread, but until recently the site was controlled by a third party. Please do let us know if you have wishes, preferrably by creating new threads in the "Wish list" forum section.
