• Hi scottg,
Please can you explain how to get the position of a Nozzle on any orientation of a Vessel.
For example: I have the following details for a Vertical Vessels to design:
Height- Length between tangent lines: 3650
Diameter: 1450
Height of skirt to bottom tangent line: 1500mm.

With the followings Explicit Position
E=0; N=0;U= 0.

How will I Adding or Creating Nozzles to the Vertical vessel or Horizontal Vessel?
How do I determine the position, if I want the Nozzle to be at East or West; North or South; Up or Down.

For example: To Adding or Creating Nozzles to the above given Vertical Vessel detail from the manual –“ Pipework Design Using VANTAGE PDMS Version 11.6SP1”,
page 34 (section 5.6)

Name: Tank-1-N1
Position: West = 1675
North = 0
Up = 250
Orientate P1 is: W (Sets the direction of the nozzle flanged face).
Height: 300 (The height of a nozzle is the length of its connecting tube).

The problem is, how is the Position: West = 1675, was being determined?
How was 1675 being determined?
Looking forward to your assistance.
Regards,

•
You can use the graphical aids displayed by the measurement command to give you additional measurements.

It is easier to show by the attached pdf image than to describe.

Display the pdf at 100% to see the graphics properly.
