Not strictly a PDMS question, but I was asked by an apprentice at the company and I've come up completely blank. What is the origin of the term "bull plug" ?
Yes, thank you, I am aware what a bull plug is. I've bought, flown and fitted many of them in my past and, yes I can google. My question is why is it called a "bull" plug ?
Again, thank you - I did the same google search and found that explanation highly unlikely. In the 45 years that I've been in shipbuilding/oil&gas bull plugs have never been hollow (ask yourself why would they be ?) but I've known plenty of "old welders" that would delight in concocting that story just for the fun of it
