• HI Guys, Im sort new to all this Admin Stuff, but have been given the task of looking after Draft.

So i have created back sheets etc etc and know I need to know if I want txt on the drawing that the user cant edit where do I put that text ??

Also If I want the users to edit text that i have put in that they cant move but can edit , how do I go about doing that ??

I understand how to put the normal Text Primitive but unsure where to put it and how to make it an attribute

Sorry if this sounds too easy but Im just practiing on a Project I have created on my Local Drive
Cheers

• right I have figured this editing text on backing sheets and symbols.
So now I can have text that can only be edited by the user and the font and color etc cant be changed by the user.
So very happy now

If any one wants to know the full instruction in plain and simple terms just PM me.

• text, that you have been added to BACKING SHEET is not editable.
but you can add a text primitive on backing sheet and set intelligent text into this Text primitive.
intelligent text could contain a reference to attribute, for example #AUTH OF DRWG or a reference to an UDA: #:DATETIME
then user just changing a value of an attribute. text on backing sheet will change after Update -> Backing sheet command.
• Hi Kubik,

I know that now hahaha that what I have been asking to do wish I had got that answer sooner lol - instead of "look in the manual " which seems to be a common term on this form
In my opinion the manuals are not well written but hey live and learn as they say
Cheers

• manuals are for experienced people, so this is not the best advice ;)
but it is necessary to read those manuals 3-4 times. it will make you a wise man anyway.

p.s. every user can create user notes on the SHEE. this is a flexible solution
• I think everyone doesn't have privilege to PM to other members. It would be helpful if u paste that instructions here.

Hi ,
Yeah Kubik, I must admit if you had a firm understanding of PDMS then yes the manuals are great. But as a new user and admin person I find them hard to follow.

I have done admin for other software before but this has been a bit harder but im getting there with the help of people like you.

Nagendra, You can post things on the persons personnel page as a vistor to their user name so you could ask there but I hear you.

I will write a detailed instruction and post it on the beginners forum
Cheers
