How to get calculated dimension value of #DIM

it is stored in EXDMTXT pseudo attribute
var !dimValue exdmtxt
q var !dimValue

             I want know whether I cant set a attribute as dimension value of the drawing and import as plot and used to set dpfname in design fittings. whether It will recoginize the attribute and modify the dimension as per output
