• As far as I know Weld Skeys cannot be used as Base Keys hence they cannot be customised
  • Hey guys,

Any of you can tell me what is the base key (BKEY) for a weld? For example for WS.

    Thanks!
  • Hey Corrado, I don't want to customize the SKEY from WELD, just to create a new one. My client wants on the isometrics to have FLAG symbol when field welds are to be made. For this I've created a new CATE, WELD-FLAG with the SKEY (WSXX) in SDTE, I've created my SKEY in draft but for the BKEY's I used are NCPL/CPWT/01HG/UNIV, and this BKEY's does not create spools in isometrics. I was wondering what BKEY welds are use for spool splitting, I haven't found this information in manuals.
Currently I use two welds to accomplish the client request, weld WS for splitting in spools and WELD-FLAG for flag symbol, but instead of using two weld I want to use only one with both characteristics.
If anyone knows what are the BKEY for default welds in Aveva I'd be very happy if you share it.

    Thanks again,
    Laurentiu
  • If you want to create a new SKEY it has to be based on an existing one that has the same "behaviour" (i.e GTYPE)
But not all SKEYS can be used as Base Keys.
If you read Isodraft Reference Manual Chapter 3.27 Symbol Key Reference Index you wil find out that WS, WW and WF cannot be used as Base Keys (USER DEFINABLE? column of the chart)
So you need to create your flag-weld as a different GTYP. Maybe a PCOM?
Definition of Spool/Field elements depends on SHOP attribute (True/False)
