• corrado, I don't know in which context you don't agree, however we have gone numerous times through the living facts of this.
We had several issues with our work share offices, where obviously the office at the other side of the ocean had the same approach; always the latest
Doing so, they had issues which we did not had...

Not to mention that in a work share environment, different IT departments, its not all that easy to get every one on the same patch.

Your disagreement makes the use of SP's unnecessary in my opinion...
But all that is a different discussion, I just want to know how we can get one of the most important deliverables besides iso's out, without issues please...
Go to the latest is NOT an option...
  • As I said before there is a Support Incident opened about that.
It will be fixed in the short future.

Regarding wheter installing fixes or not...
You are right when you say that sometimes a fix adresses a problem but creates another one.
It shouldn't happen. But it does. Sometimes.

If I have to go from A to B, I take my car and start the trip anyway.
I do not stay at home because sometimes.....I could step into a queue because of a car accident.

But you are the customer and you use Aveva technology on real projects.
So I accept and understand your comments.
    Thank you. :-)
  • Confirmed: Fix 30 did not solve the issue....
    Great...
  • You said the magic words: "real projects" and in our case: real PDMS models where several[/U] different projects are being executed with loads of work share offices around the globe.
But that's reality, not close comparible to me starting a car and the chances of ending up in a queue because of a car accident ;-)

Me, being on the PDMS admin side, have seen loads of time consuming issues between work share offices relating back to different versions used.
All effecting in one way or the other the final deliverables, Isodraft the most...

Fixes should only be implemented when fully tested (well, as much as possible) in the environment where they are going to be used.
That on it self is a time consuming thing and therefore quite hard to follow up (especially in running projects)

Anyway, we understand each other, now I'm still stucked with this Draw View thing so I do hope the fix thats going to fix that will soon be there ;-)
