As a junior Admin of Global project, I ask for some clarification please:
- First of all, what are the side effects of merging databases at satellite ?
Because in our case, the administration of the SAT is LOCAL so the merging can't be done remotely by the HUB, else if they take all the administration control.
- Second, can you please describe me all operations that we can made from the satellite but it's not recommended.
Merging database at satellite is common and it will not give info on last sessions if we merge the db.
It depends on the structure of Hub Project and how it is to be managed , many of the rights will be at hub like DB Creation etc.
Usually i done reconfiguration, teams creation, user creations, merge sessions on the satellite level for the databases which are primary at satellite.
Thank you Deva for your answer, I seen in AVEVA manuals that after a Merge at satellite the entire database will be propagate on the next update. But in my project after every merge the secondary locations don't get anymore new sessions so they become out-of-date, please have you any idea why ?
Also can you please describe how you can allow/disallowthe creation of teams and the reconfiguration of DBs to be done at satellite?
