Are you using a different MDB for MDS?
If yes, make sure you have the necessary piping catalogue and specification databases in that MDB
Try selecting a piping component on the Design Explorer and on the Command Windows type Q SPREF CATREF
What do you get?
Maybe something like "..unknown ref.." ?
Your hint led the admin to the solution. My admin added only the project catalogue db to MDS CATA MDB and MDS DESI MDB but he forgot to add Master Pipe cata. Now everything is ok.
