New bolting - is it worth the trouble?

  • [QUOTE=786PDMS;3293]hi De....its good that atleast derz sumthing i can help gurus like U :):)...jk

well i reckon NEW bolting system is awesome....sumone once said...everything is easy if u know how to do it....

it gives u lot of flexibility and managing stuff is quite easy...also Std Aveva Catalog /PDMSPIPE.CATA-ANSI is designed on new bolting......give it a go and lemme know if u need any help....i've done a bit of work wid this bolts n nuts...in the begining it used to drive me NUTS :)..but now it seems to be under control....

the key is to know from where it starts and wat paths it follows to get u the final bolts and nuts...once u understand that concept...u wud agree its really kool n intelligent...

    Good Luck!
    Hi there,
Could you please explain me on how the new bolting method works?I heard it gives a lot of flexibility and really help user in managing stuff. Thanks
  • Search the website
This has been explained many many many times already
  • Dear All,
    I Have A Question?
Could We have both of OLD and New Method Together?
    For Example:
For PSV We use New Method and for Other Component Use Old Method.
    Thanks
  • Not in the same spec.
Diferent specs in the same project can use diferent methods.

But why are you using a diferent method for PSV? Getting rid of MBOLs is one of the reasons the new method was brought in
  • Dear Pitch,
I Have A Problem For MBOL Of PSV's
    Because:
My MBOL Consist of SBOL's that used for flanges in spec.
For Example I Have PSV  10"_300LB-->12"_150LB

For This Item I Create MBol that has two SBRA From sbol of flange from same 300lb spec, but for outlet i have many sbol (because i have many 150lb spec) that have different name of bltref of flanges.
I assinged one of bltref to SBRA 2 but when i generate isometric this message was shown:
(For Inlet BOLT Take Off Successfully)
Can not Allocate bolts for flange.
I Saw Name Of Bltref of This flange different with BLTREF (SBRA 2) of mbol that i had been created.
    I Don't Know!!!
  • Dear My Friend
    I Know How MBOL Works
    My Problem is:
In 150# Spec SBOL of difference specs (BLTREF OF Flanges) are Difference
  • Make sure that the Boltref in SBRA2 matches the Boltref in the spec you are connecting to.

You could also add that boltref to your current spec.

I still do not understand why you want to use the Old method. As far as I can see it is no longer documented.
  • Dear Pitch,
I Explain again for more understand:
I Have 15 Specs generated by material manager software. 5 spec 150 lb RF and 5 spec 300 lb RF and 5 spec 600 lb RF.
this software generate bolt separately for any flanges per spec.
    For Example:
    For Flange 8" RF 150 in class BD1 (150lb RF) BLTREF /BD1-FWN-8"
For Same as Flange in Other 150 lb RF Spec (BD2)  BLTREF /BD2-FWN-8"
FOR PSV come from 300# SPEC to 150# i only can create mbol for rating 300#(DD1) to one of 150# SPEC. For Example : MBOL /300_150 SBRA /DD1-FWN-6" /BD1-FWN-8" .
Now, When PSV Connected From DD1 (Class 300) to Another spec(BD2) Bolt can not be allocated, because this mbol set only for DD1 to BD1.
Not that: i set that BLTREF (MBOL) For PSV in Class 300 LB. (I think this may be true)
    Thanks for your attention
  • Create a new MBOL
    MBOL /300_150-PSV  SBRA /DD1-FWN-6" /BD2-FWN-8"

Edit The speco for your PSV to set BLTREF to /300_150-PSV

    Run Iso again
