• Does anyone have an approved or unapproved list of acceptable video card.  I am looking for good dual and quad display cards that work well with PDMS.  Any suggestions or if anyone has any testimonials about their graphics card would be great.
  • The Aveva web-site has a list of approved video cards and the appropriate drivers.

You don't even have to login to the support site.

    http://support.aveva.com/support/United_Kingdom/index.htm

At this site click on Plant Design > then PDMS and under that you'll see Graphics Cards...

    Good luck!!!
  • I agree the Nvidia Quadro FX 1400 is a great card.  We some older systems using the Quadro FX 1100.  And even some single monitors stations with GeForce cards running PDMS.  But you want newer or even quad support.  I can say the FX 1400 has worked very well for us and would buy it again.  What are you doing that requires you to run quad monitors?  I found two monitors works well for design and paragon up at the same time.  If you need four monitors for PDMS than you just need to hire more people.

    hahahaha  ;-)
  • I have this list from AVEVA's site..  But what I am looking for is actual user reports for current dual cards and has anyone used either (2) dual cards or (1) quad card to support up to 4 monitors?  Trying to prevent myself from being the guinea pig @ $6-700/card.  We currently use Nvidia Quadro4 980 XGL and they work fine but are no longer available.
  • We are using the Quadro  FX 1400 and are very pleased with the results.  The settings are a little picky, but once you get them set ... thats a wrap!  you shouldn't have to mess with them anymore.

  • Has anyone had a chance to look at the attachment in my previous post?
  • Yes, it helped me out.  I noticed that if i activate any type of transluceny capabilities on my videocard, I have problems, also, there is an option to "Prevent Windows from Opening Windows off-screen" .  If I turn that on, I can see my ppoints on the elements.

there are so many options it can get frustrating, and your post showed alot of them, very helpful post, thanks craig!!
  • On the Active profile do you use Cadcentre PDMS?
What about the Global driver settings?
Have you set any of them?
I left them at defaults. If you go to advance settings there are 20 settings.
Have you had any contact with Aveva on there recommendations?
Just wondering if you found out anything?
There are way to many options.
  • There is an option to Import nView profile.
    Aveva should supply one.
