I am currently writing the installer for a fix-release of PSI (Spanish speakers, your bug-fix will be out soon...). I am having some trouble persuading InstallShield to uninstall the files when the fix is uninstalled.
Given that PDMS fixes might remove the new files, but does not reinstall the old ones, how annoyed would you be if the installer said "I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that" (or something similar) and gave brief instructions on how to do it by hand?
We install everything on a stand-alone machine and then create our
own package of PDMS (say PDMS11.5 version 1.1.c) that includes the latest
patches. This is then distributed to the different offices of EDF.
I wonder what the distribution of releases is - too many to look at by hand, so I may write a script to scrape them off the profiles (unless you object to programs reading pdmsworld of course...) but not tonight!
