We are planning to buy Leadtek Winfast PCIe nVidia GF 8600GT video card for all our new machines ...has anyone tried this ?....i know Aveva recommends Nvidia Quadro but its too expensive and we dont wanna go through that avenue..
I never tried this model, but some general ideas:
1. Quadro works always fine
2. Some GeForce cards works fine too, some - not (especially GeForce Go)
3. Sometimes integrated video cards (Intel) works fine (strange, isn't it)
If you have ability to test GeForse before buy you should do this.
P.S. If card is not relevant at all - pdms say it while starting.
Most problems caused by graphic card are reveals when model editor is used. This is indicated in console screen - 'SGL Error: sgl_update_view ... failed' for example.
