urgent: pdms12 installation:

  •

  • Check and see if the PDMSWK directory is there. If not create it at at the specified location.....It says so in the error log....can not find....

    Hth,
  • You might have to check the registry. I encountered problems when I had earlier versions of PDMS12 installed.
If there are some ghosts hanging around then you'll have to get rid of them.
  • I have seen this problem before.  You need to have read and write access to the PDMSWK folder.
  • Your user needs to be in "Administrator" category. This can be done by setting it Control Panel >> User Acounts >> Your User and then set it to computer Administrator. Most probably, the IT person will be able to do it for you if you can't by yourself.

Might be wrong here... But look at you paths that are echoed back...

Most of the paths are showing 2 "\\" characters, instead of one. Looks like when you are defining the evars, perhas you are putting in an extra "\"...

No, that is normal.  It's a permissions issue, you need to have write access to the PDMSWK folder.
  • ok thanks for your reply,

Can you tell me onething  right now we dont have administrator in my company, recruiting they are recruting admin person, and i have one doubt IT people only installed the pdms but i dont knwo what they done, while installing the pdms. and another question is while installing the pdms administrator is required?

    thanks in advance,
    ram...
  • For installing no Admin is required but it would be handy to have someone aboard when you do. If the windows enviroment is protected you can set the PDMSWK folder to another drive where users do have full access. And they will also need a full access PDMSUSER folder. Installing is not the problem anymore setting it up so it works for your company is the main issue nowadays.

As yar_nl mentioned you don't need an admin to install it.  Although it would help to have someone that is familiar with PDMS to install it and set it up in your company, as they know the little details, such as making your PDMSWK and PDMSUSER folders write-able.  PDMS is very easy to deploy in my opinion, as you don't have to worry about 3rd party tool setup, like Oracle or SQL server, and the project set up is a nice GUI, unlike other tools.
