I am wondering if anyone has had any experience in upgrading and replacing existing databases with new databases?
So with our setup we have master databases that aren't reliable. I don't know the full history of these databases but it seems like they were based on the MAS/SAM databases and then modified.
So I want to replace databases such as Master Pipe catalogue and Master Draft padd and use the APS and ACP Aveva supplied projects.
However if I was to do this then elements in Design and Draft would no longer have a reference etc to these master databases. e.g. a FLAN would have a spref equalling nulref.
So then I would have to link it to the new SPCO in the new master database.
Is there a simple way to do this? I was thinking of writing a PML macro to do this but its going to be rather tricky.
