How's the performance of the AVEVA E3D in a Citrix/VDI environment?

Hello Everyone,

Good day.

We are experiencing intermittent slowness issue in AVEVA E3D Design and Draw.

Navigation of 3D model such as rotate, move, select, zoom in and out are too slow on the given date and time.

I'd like to ask your experience working on AVEVA E3D in a Citrix/VDI environment?

Citrix is in San Diego, CA, USA and users are accessing from Aliso Viejo, CA, USA, Long Beach, CA, USA and Manila Philippines.

Have you come up with any workarounds or fixes to address any slowness concerns with Citrix or VDI?

Appreciate your input.

Thank you.

  • It works fine for the users in USA?

From my experience there is no issues running E3D on Citrix with servers in EU and accessed by offices in EU, India and Brazil. Sadly I have no insight in the configuration or setup of the actual Citrix environment.

Yes, it is a bit worse than local E3D but nothing that impacts delivery time and engineering efficiency.

Need to disable the graphical cursor with the default windows, change UseWindowsCursorForPick="F" to UseWindowsCursorForPick="T" in  ... Aveva\AVEVA E3D Design\3.1\DesignSettings\Config\config.xml - otherwise it does add a layer of frustration.
