We have pdms running here and some license server. so far everything normal.
I updated my laptop with Flex 4.1 and testes some stuff.
Wat i found out was.
Install Flex 4.1 and setup a ghost Profil. link to lmgrd.exe and a empty license File
only that you can save the profil.
If you now add a existing license server from the network to the registry ( cancentre_license_file ) you can ask the Server Status and perform Status Enquiry
and the funny part you can also shutdown the license server from your local flex 4.1.
So its possible to shut down a license server remote at any location. you only need a flex 4.1 installed and the ip of the server.
Dont know if they wanted it like this but formyself i think its stupid this way.
i have to switch my license server sometimes from local ( laptop )to a license server because of some addons i need sometimes and if you dont watch while stopping the server you shut down the wrong one and they users start ringing your phone ;-)
anyonle else every had this prob oder tested it ?
at least for security reasons its not the best idea for sure to have acces like that with the flex.
