Description Microsoft has provided a Patch for the introduction of daylight savings trial in Western Australia, however they have not provided a patch for Windows 2000.
All trend data is stored in UTC format, independant of localised time. When the trend data is displayed via a Citect client, the local computer time is applied to the data via a GMT offset.
If the system time is manually changed to compensate for Daylight savings, then this will affect the UTC time, instead of changing the GMT offset.
If the UTC time is increased on a Trend Server, then a 1 hour gap will appear in your trend data. If the UTC time is decreased, then you will overwrite an hour of data.
For these reasons, you must change the GMT offset of the PC to compensate for Daylight Savings, instead of manually changing the UTC time.
Instructions: Please rename the attached *.regfile to *.reg before use.
* double click the reg file. * Then click on the menu time and and adjust the "Time Zone" * Select "Perth 2006", click , done !!
Note: Also download and run the "Time Change Utilty for Windows 2000" tool from the CitectSCADA Miscellaneous Utilities so that you do not need top restart CitectSCADA/HMI to pick up the time change.
