Description SMS Server is a software product that integrates seamlessly with CitectSCADA and Vijeo Citect, and requires no change to your project. Its main goal is to alert people far from plant that something is not working fine, thanks to an SMS and/or E-Mail delivery routine that sends alarm messages outgoing from CitectSCADA or VijeoCitect to a customizable list of user, who can acknowledge alarms simply replying to the received SMS. SMSServer is completely customizable, here is a list of action you can do using this software: - Define contacts and group them to have a list of reperible teams; - Define group or contacts availability dividing each day in 30 minutes intervals; - Filter alarms to be notificated to the user even using wildcards; - Repeat a notification until a remote acknowledge (by SMS), a local acknowledge (directly from SCADA), or a defined timeout is reached; - Monitor the status of the GSM Modem directly from SCADA; - Check the log of message delivered to the contacts, the message failed and eventually the received ones; - Use Command Line interface to open, close, or show SMSServer interface over your Citect system. Now, with the new escalation feature, you can even define a hierarchy of contacts. As a result of this, the first person, or the first set of persons, who has to receive the notification will receive it immediatly, and all the other will be notificated after some minutes, and only if the alarm is still to be acknowledge. Split your groups in different, unlimited levels and decide the time that has to elapse before passing to the next hierarchic level. Persons who has the highest levels of priority will be notificated only after time and only if no one has acknowledged the alarm. SMSServer doesn't require dedicated hardware to run, just a GSM modem or a mobile phone connected to the PC where it runs. It's not free. This is a 3rd party tool but seems to work well and is much better integrated with Citect than Win911 which requires you to define your alarms and setpoints again in it.
