Remote or local Kernel dumping via CTAPI

Version
v4

Requirements

  • Tested on SCADA versions 6.10, 7.00 and 7.10, though it should be compatible with all versions
  • Visual Basic 5.0 Run-Time Files (NOTE: These aren't provided in Windows Server 2003. You can download them by clicking here)

Description
This tool uses CTAPI to allow remote or local 'Kernel Dumping' of a Citect SCADA system. Different Masks and different Processes can be selected. Logs can be a 'one-off' dump, or periodic dumping (up to 24 days apart) can be configured - particularly useful for debugging 'leak' type issues which can occur over a period of time. This allows a system that is currently 'in error' to have a Kernel Dump command issued to any SCADA PC without any Cicode changes, or without a 'Kernel User' having to be configured. Can connect to any PC where CTAPI connectivity is available. For a local connection, no credentials are required, but for a remote machine, a valid Citect User/Password is required. Windows File-Sharing Access to a remote PC is not required, only CTAPI access. For a remote connection in v7.10+, requires [CTAPI]remote=1 to be set.
