Toolbox Template

Allows operators to see the difference between 'no alarms' and 'no alarm server'

Version
1.0beta

Requirements
Citect 7.40 SP1

Description
If a CitectSCADA or Vijeo Citect client loses the connection to its alarm server(s), there is no indication on the alarm page that there is a problem. It looks the same as if there are no active alarms. The hardware alarms page will indicate the problem, but many operators do not look there often.

This project demonstrates a genie that appears on the alarm page (or last alarm banner) whenever there is a problem. It also displays the number of failed alarm clusters in case the page is displaying multiple clusters and only some of them are online.

Restore the project backup, compile, run the Computer Setup Wizard, then run the project and open the alarm page to test it out and for instructions on how to implement it in your own project.

The project runs in 7.40 SP1 but the Cicode could be copied to 7.30 or 7.20 (not tested).

Updates:
11/6/2014 Modified test page to include user login. No code changes
