I believe it is highly unlikely that myself as a user would know or be given every PI point name necessary since things like naming/tagging depends in the industry and its respective companies. Additionally, PI points alone may lack the specificity required for accurate interpretation, thus an asset framework and its attributes are needed, and those as well will require consistent use of terminology when defining. Even across the various sciences, there are many variables or symbols that are used in a multitude of ways. Therefore having a standardized approach to this, at minimum within a company, is crucial in making spaces for collaboration both at current time and for the future. This increase in visibility and clarity ensures that if there are any changes to the team or the conditions, the come-up time for those involved is not nearly as overwhelming or confusing.
