It would be very difficult and tedious to create meaningful reports without AF attributes already configured for PI Points, especially if you were a new user. Once AF attributes are assigned, just changing the Asset will apply the same structure to the data in the report. To update a product name used in your mixing tank without Asset Framework would require a manual application that wouldn't update automatically and may be out-of-date on other's views of the report if the report is shared.
