The PI C37.118 interface supports the IEEE C37.118/D7.3.5 Standard for Synchrophasors for Power Systems. This interface was designed to operate with any C37.118 compliant device via an Ethernet or serial interface. Once connected to the Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) or Phasor Data Concentrator (PDC) the Interface is designed to provide highly accurate measurement of electrical power quality. Each instance of the interface can connect to multiple PDCs and / or PMUs and provide electrical measurements to the PI System.
When using openPDC, the application has an embedded custom interface that connects directly to the PI System. Please note that this is a not an OSIsoft interface.
Tips: use the /TagConfig command-line parameter to read the CONFIG2 block from the PDC/PMU and generates a comma-delimited file that contains the configuration to create PI points.
